Latest News: Iron Man Spin-Off War-Machine in the Works

Marvel Studios is currently getting its slate of projects together for the next decade, lining up potential properties in the wake of 2012's The Avengers and all of that film's one-offs.

On Thursday, it was announced that Marvel had hired Mark Bailey to write Black Panther. Now, Iron Man 2 star Don Cheadle has come forward to say that a writer has been hired to write the spin-off War Machine.

Here is what he had to say:

They're developing it now; they're working on that. I think they've hired a writer, so we'll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun."

Cheadle then revealed that he will not be appearing in The Avengers as War Machine:

I don't think he shows up. I think he's kind of a lone wolf."

The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Black Panther is in development .

Iron Man 2 was released May 7th, 2010 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Jon Favreau.

War Machine is in development .
