Hot News: Dark Shadows Gets Thomas McDonell as Young Barnabas Collins




Thomas McDonell will play a young Barnabas Collins in Dark Shadows

Production on director Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of the popular vampire soap opera Dark Shadows is really starting to ramp up. Today, Thomas McDonell (Walt Disney's upcoming high school dramedy Prom) was hired to play the young Barnabas Collins, the classic vampire character set to be portrayed by Johnny Depp.

Thomas McDonell is just the latest actor to join the project. Other recent cast additions include Jackie Earle Haley, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, and Bella Heathcote.

Michael Sheen is currently in talks to play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard's (Michelle Pfeiffer) conniving brother Roger. The screenplay is by Seth Grahame-Smith. Dark Shadows will shoot later this year.

Dark Shadows is in development and stars Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Michelle Pfeiffer, Thomas McDonell, Helena Bonham Carter. The film is directed by Tim Burton.
