In early February, it was announced that Javier Bardem had been offered the role of an unspecified villain in James Bond 23. Now, it seems that Anthony Hopkins is being sought for a similar role.
It isn't clear if both actors are up for the same part, or if they will act alongside each other as dual villains should both sign on. Anthony Hopkins is close to signing a deal to appear as 007's nemesis in James Bond 23, but it appears that he is having an issue with how many sequels he needs to come back for.
We are sure to hear official casting announcements very soon, as James Bond 23 is heading into production later this year.
James Bond 23 comes to theaters November 9th, 2012 and stars Daniel Craig, Judi Dench. The film is directed by Sam Mendes.
