Jude Law Replaces Michael Fassbender in 'Genius'

Jude Law has signed on to replace Michael Fassbender in the new drama Genius. FilmNation announced back in November 2012 that Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender were set to star, but Michael Fassbender is no longer involved.

The project is adapted from the A. Scott Berg book Max Perkins: Editor of Genius, which centers on the life-changing friendship between iconic author Thomas Wolfe (Jude Law) and his longtime editor Max Perkins, who discovered other famous authors such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. Nicole Kidman is also starring, although it isn't known what role she is playing.

Michael Grandage (The Madness of King George) is directing from an adapted screenplay by John Logan (Skyfall). Michael Grandage is also producing with James Bierman, with Tim Bevan serving as executive producer. Shooting is scheduled to begin this fall in the U.K.

Jude Law can currently be seen in The Grand Budapest Hotel and Dom Hemingway.

Genius comes to theaters in 2015 and stars Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, Jude Law. The film is directed by Michael Grandage.
