Stefanie Scott, who is currently shooting Jem and the Holograms for Jason Blum, has signed on to star in the producer's horror sequel Insidious Chapter 3 for Focus Features.
No plot details have been released at this time, although it was confirmed last month that Leigh Whannell is writing and directing the sequel, taking over the directorial reins from Insidious and Insidious Chapter 2 director James Wan.
It isn't known if Insidious and Insidious Chapter 2 stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey and Angus Sampson will reprise their roles for the sequel, or if Leigh Whannell will return as paranormal investigator Specs. Our report from last month revealed that production will begin on July 7.
The original Insidious earned $ 97 million worldwide from just a $ 1.5 million budget, with the sequel Insidious Chapter 2 taking in $ 160 million worldwide.
Stefanie Scott's other big screen credits include Flipped, No Strings Attached and Wreck-It Ralph.
Insidious Chapter 3 comes to theaters April 3rd, 2015 and stars Stefanie Scott. The film is directed by Leigh Whannell.
